Third Gunbot Permanent Tournament – Interview with the Winners 2nd chapter.
Here are the answers to some of the questions that all of us are excited to know about the champions of the third permanent Gunbot Tournament.
Why did you choose Gunbot as your bot for trading crypto?.

So that’s a fun question, uhm. I was using a different bot years ago and wanted to retry the ‘bot’ scene. So I gave google a search to see the latest best things, and Gunbot was in one of those articles I read. I gave a look at the websites and what they offered. I liked Gunbot’s lifetime licensing model, as that was what my previous bot offered as well at the time I purchased(margin.de: I had just lost the info to use it, blah). But what really drew me in was the variety of ‘pre-built’ strategies, and how customizable everything was! I like to tweak things. This was the best purchase ever!

When comparing GB to other bots, 2 years ago, I did not like the cloud-based aspect of a lot of other bots :
API-keys, wallets, and personal info needed to be provided in ‘the cloud’ which raised security questions to me.
I used to trade manually using TradingView, so the ability to trade based on TradingView alerts next to GB’s own strategies was a second factor that made me choose for GB.
Once I bought GB, I discovered an awesome community sharing info and providing great support.

I like the Motion of the Ocean strategy, so Market Maker.

I would say features. Using Trading view add-on, Regular GB strategies, MM I use many of the available strats all depending on Market conditions and coin pairs. This varies a lot.

I love having so much flexibility within methods to handle averaging. Not every bot has this capability!.
What strategy did you use in the tournament?.

Market_Maker: MOTO variant.

The motion of the Ocean controlled by ARS.

Support Resistance Strategy within Market_Maker.

I used a special support and resistance trading strategy, specific pair picking, and specific tuning. I discovered that I (accidentally) targeted around 400 ROE. Good thing it was a sideways month for me!.
What’s the feature you would like to be added to Gunbot?

This has been answered by the upcoming restart-less builds.

I would like to see the MM setting for buy and sell based on SMA Period and Sup res Spread
depicted on the chart. Or some type of Sup/Res analysis tuner so you don’t have to hunt and peck for great settings. Possibly be able to test settings before running the setup. Something Like a Live sandbox that can be accessed from the GUI.

I would like most to see the ability to manage across multiple remote instances, which would mean a better way to chart the trades that happened in the past. As we normally only collect (configured) # of periods, it’s hard to see old trades by themselves without spinning up another bot on the watch to review.
What’s the most urgent need that needs to be Fixed or revamped?

I don’t really see any, everything that’s being worked on in the upcoming restart-less builds should cover anything I would have had to say here.
This bot is sooo adaptable!.

I think having a nice fully stable release more often. I tend to stay with older versions that work and get nervous to update because then I run into new issues.

I think I’d like to see a working and valid build of restart-less, this would make me happy!

For the Tournament no, but I use trading view add-on sometimes.

I created my own autoconfig to limit DCA, scaling, and wipe tiny positions leftover from supres pnd closes (limit closes/not always a fill).

I used Moto during the 3 last tournaments. It provides great results but I decided to activate ARS during the last tournament due to its nice features.
For example, it will choose the moto-side depending on the market: sideways or up/down. This feature gave me the ROI% needed to be 3rd in the last tournament.
ARS also provides pump-dump protection which makes sure you are not at the wrong ‘side’ of the movement. All these features give me ‘peace of mind’.
At this moment I don’t need to check every hour my balance and distance to liquidation anymore as I trust ARS to do that for me.
